Coffee is one of the most popular drinks in the world. It can be prepared in variety of ways and each variety is known by different names like espresso, cappuccino, café latte etc. In India, coffee is grown in the southern states of Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Monsoon rains in these parts of the country influences the coffee cultivation and is even known as “Indian monsooned coffee”. Coffee powder made in this way does not contain any chicory. It can also be mixed with boiled milk to get light brown coloured coffee.
Roasted Arabica beans beans tend to have a sweeter, softer taste, with tones of sugar, fruit, and berries. Their acidity is higher, with that winey taste that characterizes coffee with excellent acidity. They contain less caffeine as Robusta beans and grows at higher altitudes and slightly less rainfall (1200-2200 mm/yr) with cooler temperatures of 15°-24°C (59-75°F). Arabica coffee shrubs typically grows between 2.5-4.5 meters (8.2-14.7 ft) in height. In terms of yield, Arabica produces less coffee per hectare than Robusta and hence the cost of production is higher. It is mostly grown in Brazil, Colombia, Ethiopia, Vietnam and India.
These top quality Arabica beans are collected from South Indian state of Karnataka.
